The capital of Scotland Edinburgh is the second largest city in the country with a population of around 490,000 people and is home to the Scottish parliament. Edinburgh is well known for its education, particular in the field of medicine, literature, science and engineering. There are about 95 primary schools and around 25 secondary schools in Edinburgh which are all administered by the City of Edinburgh Council. The University of Edinburgh educates around 21,000 students and its famous alumni include Charles Darwin, Alexander Graham Bell and Joseph Lister. There are a number of sites and landmarks to visit in Edinburgh such as Arthur's seat, Edinburgh castle and Holyrood Palace. Edinburgh airport is located at Ingliston within the city of Edinburgh.
