PRINCE2® is globally recognised framework for project management. It was founded in the 1970's, where it was known as PROMPT II. It was developed by Simpact Systems Limited. At this stage in the course was split into 7 stages. Later, in the 1980, PRINCE2® was released. It was developed with the UK government. One of the defining features of PRINCE® was it had a more defined management structure. Later, in 1996, PRINCE2® was released. BAC and UAC, which were components of PRINCE®, were removed. The most recent version of PRINCE2® was released in 2009. Some changes were made to the structure such as, paying more attention to methods for specific structures.
